INVITATIONS
NISI MASA
Istanbul Express

NISI MASA, the European network of young cinema, brings together associations from 26 countries and explores a wide range of activities. NISI MASA initiates scriptwriting and filmmaking workshops, organises a short film coproduction forum (European Short Pitch) and publishes daily magazines during film festivals (Nisimazine), etc.

NISI MASA defines itself as a free space for new talents to develop themselves. In order to extend the field of opportunities, we encourage the young euro-generation to consider cinema as a method of artistic expression, a tool for understanding the world and a passion to be shared. In 2011, NISI MASA is celebrating its 10th year of activities!

The 8 films presented in this programme were produced in the framework of the Istanbul Express project, a crazy cinematographic adventure supported by “Istanbul, European Capital of Culture”. In autumn 2010, 50 young cineastes set off from San Sebastián, Tallinn and Turin, crossing Europe by train and making itinerant documentaries during one month.
